How We Work

From your first details to Belastingdienst approval — here's exactly how we handle your 30% ruling application, step by step.

1

Fill In Your Details

5-10 minutes

Start by completing our secure online intake form. We ask for your employment details, salary information, previous residence, and educational background. The form is designed to be straightforward — no tax jargon, just clear questions.

What we need from you:

  • Employment contract
  • Passport or ID
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Proof of previous address
Tip: Not sure about a question? Leave it blank — we'll follow up personally.
2

Eligibility Check

Within 24 hours

Our tax specialists review your details against all four eligibility criteria: Dutch employment, recruited from abroad, 150km distance rule, and salary threshold. We verify the numbers and flag any potential issues before preparing your application.

What happens:

We check your salary against the 2026 threshold (€48,013 standard / €36,497 under-30 with Master's). If anything doesn't add up, we contact you directly with clear guidance.

Important: If you don't qualify, we tell you immediately and refund your fee in full.
3

Application Preparation

1-2 business days

We complete the official 'Verzoek loonheffingen Expatregeling' form on your behalf. Every field is filled accurately, supporting documents are organized, and the application is formatted to Belastingdienst standards.

What's included:

  • Pre-filled official form
  • Complete document package
  • Employer instruction letter
  • Submission guide
Full Application bonus: Our Full Application clients receive a personal expert review of the entire application before delivery.
4

Review & Sign

10 minutes

We send you the completed application for review. Both you and your employer sign the form. We provide clear instructions for your employer if they're unfamiliar with the process.

Employer support:

We provide clear employer instructions with every application so signing goes smoothly.

Straightforward: Everything is ready to sign — no surprises or unexpected questions.
5

Submit to Belastingdienst

Once signed

You (or your employer) submit the completed application package to the Dutch Tax Authority. We provide the exact mailing address and a submission checklist to ensure nothing is missed.

Timeline & requirements:

Apply within 4 months of your start date for retroactive benefits. Processing typically takes 4-12 weeks from the Belastingdienst.

Pro tip: We provide a tracking guide so you know what to expect during review.
6

Approval & Follow-Up

After approval

Once approved, the ruling takes effect from your start date (if filed on time). Your employer adjusts your payroll to apply the 30% exemption — and you start keeping more of your salary immediately.

What you receive:

  • Official approval letter from Belastingdienst
  • Your unique ruling reference number
